Certapay: Powers the ability for person-to-person, bank email money transfers

Another breakthrough in the early days of Fintech…..there was a time when individuals could not email money to others via bank-to-bank. This changed everything.

In 2002, Certapay, launched Canada’s first real-time, person-to person, bank-to-bank email money transfer payment systems with some of Canada’s major banks (TD Canada Trust, CIBC, Scotiabank, Bank of Montreal).  I was engaged to assist the marketing team with a media relations program. With a full suite of media materials and targeted outreach, we created a national campaign to build awareness of the new service. Additionally, with a targeted outreach plan, we invited personal finance columnists and journalists to test drive the service and write about their experience.

The program was exceptionally well received. We achieved cross country media coverage in major newspapers with endorsements by high profile columnists.

Today this service is widely adopted and is known as INTERAC e-transfer or Email Money Transfer.
